Our Balance Transfer facility allows you to manage your cash flows in a better way. Simply, transfer your credit card outstanding from any other bank in the UAE to your Emirates Islamic Credit Card and pay it back in 3 or 6 months at 0% profit rate (for Profit-based Cards) or pay it back in easy installments with a fixed fee (for Fee-based Cards).

All Emirates Islamic Primary Credit Cardholders can apply for the Balance Transfer facility.

Eligibility

  • Minimum transfer amount of AED 1,000.
  • The Balance Transfer amount should not be more than 80% of your Available Card Limit.
  • Two Balance Transfer plans are allowed per card at any given time.
  • Corporate, Business and Prepaid Cards are not eligible.

Fees and Charges

You have 2 options to choose from:

  • Balance Transfer with Fixed Fees (Fee-based Cards): Choose to pay fixed fees and avoid a processing fee.
  • Balance Transfer with 0% Profit Rate (Profit-based Cards): If you prefer not to pay profit, you can pay a one-time processing fee instead.

What’s next?

Once the request is processed, the balance will be transferred to your Emirates Islamic Credit Card, and you can pay it back as per the plan on your Card.

Emirates Islamic will issue a Manager Cheque for the Balance Transfer amount credited to the other bank’s credit card number. The Cheque will be delivered to the other bank directly Via Empost within 5 to 7 working days.

Cancel your Balance Transfer

You can cancel your non-installment plan at any time (For Profit-based Cards). Easy installment plans can be closed post 90 days from the plan start date (For Fee-based Cards) and an early settlement fee will apply.

FAQs

No, you don’t earn miles or rewards on Balance Transfer.

You can choose to repay your Balance Transfer installments in 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24, 36 or 48 months for Fee-based Cards and 3 or 6 months for Profit-based Cards.

Emirates Islamic will issue a Manager Cheque that will be credited to the other bank’s credit card directly.

If you fail to pay your installments for two consecutive months, your plan will be foreclosed. Your entire outstanding Balance Transfer amount will immediately be due for payment in full. Any remaining outstanding balance will attract Monthly Profit Rate charges.

For Profit-based Cards, even if you prepay the entire amount, your Balance Transfer Plan will remain active, and you will continue to pay profit towards the plan. If you want to cancel the plan, you must place a cancellation request.

For Fee-based Cards, if you prepay the entire amount, your Balance Transfer plan will be closed automatically.

Before you place a request to cancel your Credit Card, you need to close all the active plans on your Card.

No, your Emirates Islamic Credit Card must be active to avail the Balance Transfer facility.
