In line with the Year of Giving in the UAE, Emirates Islamic contributes AED 1m to Sharjah Charity International

Emirates Islamic, one of the leading Islamic financial institutions in the UAE, has contributed AED 1 million to Sharjah Charity International, a donor organisation that provides humanitarian aid within and outside the UAE.

The contribution will be distributed among select charitable projects that benefit poor and needy families in the UAE.

“As part of Emirates Islamic’s commitment to improving the wellbeing of the less privileged, we are always pleased to lend our support to Sharjah Charity International and other humanitarian organisations in any way possible,” said Awatif Al Harmoodi, General Manager of Operational Governance at Emirates Islamic.

The bank has been a regular contributor to charitable humanitarian causes and has contributed over AED 46 million in 2017 through its Emirates Islamic Charity Fund.

The Emirates Islamic Charity Fund provides financial aid under several main areas, including food, shelter, health, education and social welfare. The fund was set up with the primary objective of allocation of financial aid to large charities, public and private institutions, as well as individuals in need.
