Emirates Islamic Chat Banking via WhatsApp is an easy to use secure channel which allows you to carry out basic banking functions on the go. This new digital banking channel joins the existing list of growing touchpoints at Emirates Islamic, and will enable you to receive instant responses to banking requests such as:

  • Last 5 transactions
  • Card outstanding balance
  • Blocking/ unblocking cards
  • Cheque book request
  • Foreign exchange rates

Security Tips for Subscribers

  • To ensure that you are talking to Emirates Islamic on WhatsApp, look for the green badge next to Emirates Islamic's name which confirms that this is a verified business account.
  • Data transfer happens via a secure channel between your device, WhatsApp and Emirates Islamic. The information is encrypted and cannot be seen by anyone.
  • Emirates Islamic will never ask you to share your personal information or account/ card numbers via WhatsApp. Depending on your enquiry, you will be asked to input only the last 4 digits of your card or account number. If someone does ask you for it, they do not represent the Bank and you should not under any circumstance provide this information.
  • Do not reply to WhatsApp messages that request your personal information. They may appear to come from a trusted friend or business, but they are designed to trick you into disclosing sensitive personal information.
  • You can only subscribe to Emirates Islamic Chat Banking via your registered mobile number with the bank. The same number has to be used in WhatsApp.
  • Lock your mobile device when not in use to prevent unauthorized access to your information.
  • Never share your device.
  • Activate your SIM card with a PIN.
  • Enable WhatsApp Two-Step Verification under Settings/ Account/ Two-Step Verification: with any attempt to verify your mobile number on WhatsApp must be accompanied by a 6-digit PIN you create.

How to use Emirates Islamic Chat Banking via WhatsApp?

  • Type 'Balance', 'Bal' to check the balance of your Current or Savings Account
  • Type 'Card transactions XXXX' where 'XXXX' are the last 4 digits of your Card number, to get the last 5 transactions of your Card
  • Type 'Account transactions XXXX' where 'XXXX' are the last 4 digits of your Account number, to get the last 5 transactions of your Account
  • Type 'Balance cc XXXX' where XXXX are the last 4 digits of your Credit Card number, to know the outstanding balance on your Credit Card
  • Type 'Block XXXX' or 'Unblock XXXX' where 'XXXX' are the last 4 digits of your Card number, to block / unblock your Debit or Credit Card temporarily
  • Type 'Cheque book XXXX' where 'XXXX' are the last 4 digits of your account number, to request for your new cheque book
  • Type 'FX', to find out the current foreign exchange rates of select countries.

Your Card will be temporarily blocked until you unblock your Card again. If you wish to block your Card permanently, please use any of our existing channels - Mobile/ Online Banking or call us 600 599995 . A permanently blocked Card cannot be unblocked again.

Should you lose your phone or if it falls in the wrong hands, you might become vulnerable to data theft. We advise you to take additional precaution such as locking your mobile device when not in use and activating your sim card with a PIN, in addition to enabling WhatsApp’s 2-step verification.

Emirates Islamic will never ask you to share your personal information or Card/ Account numbers via WhatsApp. Depending on your enquiry, you may be asked to input only the last 4 digits of your Card or Account number.

Make sure to add Emirates Islamic’ s number (600 599995) to your contacts and prompt a new chat via WhatsApp to start a new conversation.

You can simply unsubscribe from Chat Banking by typing Opt out in your conversation with the bank on WhatsApp.
