Amazon Card Program specific terms and conditions (Hereinafter referred to as “Terms and Conditions”), governs the eligibility, earning and redemption of benefits in connection with Amazon Card Program (“Program”) offered by Emirates Islamic Bank PJSC. These Terms and Conditions are specific to the Amazon Cards program and should be read in conjugation with the General Terms and Conditions for Consumer Banking Services available here (“General Terms”).
“Amazon” means Amazon UAE through its website Amazon.ae or App.
“Amazon Account” means the customer’s/Cardholder’s account on Amazon whether Prime or non-Prime.
“Amazon Reward Points” are the rewards earned through usage or primary card or any linked supplementary card/s.
“Bank” means Emirates Islamic Bank PJSC.
“Card” means Amazon Emirates Islamic Credit Card.
“Cardholder” means Amazon Emirates Islamic Credit Card cardholder either Primary or supplementary if not specified.
“Merchant Category Code” or “MCC” is a four-digit number assigned by credit card network – MasterCard to classify merchants and businesses by the type of goods or services provided.
“Qualifying Transaction” means transaction categories as defined below in this document.
“UAE” means the United Arab Emirates.
1.1 All customers who qualify to receive the Card will have their existing Amazon Account linked to the Card, or an account will be created for them.
1.2 This Amazon Account will be automatically linked to the Cardholder’s new Card, for the purposes of the Program, including, without limitation, the transfer of Amazon Reward Points earned on the Card.
1.3 Amazon will use the email address provided in the application to match and update the existing Amazon profile in case information provided on the Card application exists in the records.
1.4 The Bank, at its absolute discretion, reserves the right to amend or add categories to the Spend Category from time to time without notice to a Cardholder, save that reasonable efforts will be used to promptly post details of that amendment or addition (as the case may be) to the Bank’s or Amazon’s website.
1.5 For customer applying for the Card through Amazon channels, Amazon Reward Points earned will be reflected in Amazon Wallet of the account used to apply for the Card.
1.6 For customer applying for the Card through Bank channels; As part of Card issuance, the applicant/customer will have to log into their primary Amazon Account for Amazon Reward Points earn and redemption and this will be considered the primary account for the purposes of this Program, not limited to earning and redemption of Amazon Reward Points.
1.7 The Bank offers the Card variants Mastercard World and Platinum for different income bands and will be decided by the Bank’s internal policy.
1.8 The Bank will not be liable for any services/products provided by partners/merchants as part of this promotion.
1.9 Welcome Bonus in the form of Amazon Rewards Points will be credited within 90 days of the Card issuance and only if the spend criteria is fulfilled, it will appear on the Cardholder’s Amazon Reward Points balance.
2.1 When the Cardholder applies and is approved for a Card, the Cardholder authorizes the Bank to share, process or obtain Cardholder's personal information which is not limited to the Cardholder’s personal data and Card Account information from or with Amazon and vice versa for administrative purposes to provide the services to the Cardholder in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, as permitted by applicable laws. Without the Cardholder authorization to the Bank to share Cardholder information and account information with Amazon, the Bank will not be able to provide the services to the Cardholder in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. 3.1 The Card will earn Amazon Reward Points on eligible spends in accordance with the spend categories as specified in the table below and will be based on primary account holder’s daily Prime membership status with Amazon.ae

The spend categories will be identified by currency and *MCC (Merchant Category Codes) as provided by the network Mastercard.
3.2 Amazon Reward Points will be earned within 3 calendar days after the transaction is settled/posted and can be viewed on the EI + Mobile Banking App.
3.3 Maximum eligible spends: In any given month, a Cardholder shall only be entitled to earn Amazon Reward Points for transactions carried out up to the extent of the assigned Credit Limit on the Card. Transactions exceeding the assigned Credit Limit shall not be entitled to earn Amazon Reward Points during that month
3.4 Bill Payments via Emirates Islamic banking channels (Online Banking, Mobile App, ATM/CDM, and Call center) will NOT earn any Amazon Reward Points / rewards
3.5 Amazon Reward Points available in the wallet will have an expiry of 5 years from the date of credit. The Bank may at its sole discretion amend or change the period of expiry after the passage of the notice period required in accordance with the applicable regulations of the Central Bank of the UAE
3.6 The Amazon Reward Points will be earned and calculated at an account level for combined spends of primary and supplementary cards
3.7 The Amazon Reward Points earned can be redeemed from time to time by the primary cardholder via Amazon website or Mobile App by adding their Card as a payment card at Amazon checkout
3.8 The calculation will be 1 Amazon Reward points = 1 AED as a discount on Amazon
3.9 Linking of Card to Amazon Account:
3.10 Cardholder(s) will not earn or be able to redeem Amazon Reward points if the Card is blocked, suspended, terminated or closed; or the Card is delinquent.
3.11 The Bank reserves the right to refuse payment of the Amazon Reward Points where it has reason to believe that the Cardholder has breached or tried to breach these terms and conditions or attempted to circumvent operational procedures.
3.12 The Bank may introduce a minimum spend condition for Amazon Reward Points or eligibility at any time, save that reasonable efforts will be used to promptly post details of that amendment or addition (as the case may be) to the Bank’s website.
3.13 Reversal/Refund transaction initiated by the merchant against the original transaction: These transactions will offset the retail spends in the Calendar Month in which the refund or reversal transaction has been processed by the merchant in accordance with the category of spend and adjust the Amazon Reward Points earned for the same Calendar Month. In the event a Qualifying Transaction is reversed or refunded at a later date, these transactions will compensate the Qualifying Transactions executed in the Calendar Month in which the reversal has been processed by the merchant in accordance with the category of spend and shall also compensate the Amazon Reward Points for the same Calendar Month.
3.14 Any reversals for transactions made with the Card will only be reversed to the source and not in the Amazon wallet
3.15 The Amazon Reward points will be earned up to two decimal digits (rounded down)
3.16 Amazon Reward Points is offered as per the Merchant Category Codes defined by Mastercard. The Bank is not responsible if a transaction does not get captured under the appropriate Merchant code.
3.17 If there is a negative balance in the Cardholder’s Amazon Reward Points balance due to a merchant refund or reversal, the Bank reserves the right to (a) to deduct relevant Amazon Rewards Points from future accruals to the extent required to complete a Reversal, or (b) not accept cancellation request of the Card until the negative balance is adjusted either by spending on the Card or paying the value for the negative rewards balance.
3.18 Bank reserves the right at its sole discretion to withhold or forfeit Amazon Reward Points or any other benefits if the spend patterns are identified as irregular, suspicious, indicative of ‘gaming behavior’ or misuse by spending exclusively only on Amazon.ae to earn the highest Amazon Reward Points. This includes but not limited to transactions conducted with primary intent to earn Amazon Reward Points without any genuine underlying purchase or purchase for reselling purposes. The Bank’s decision in this regard shall be final and binding.
3.19 All Cards are intended for personal use to conduct retail transactions. Use of a Card for commercial transactions (any transaction other than personal retail transactions) shall not entitle the Cardholder to earn Amazon Reward Points for those transactions. The Bank reserves the right to assess to qualify or disqualify transactions as commercial at its sole discretion, acting reasonably. The Bank’s decision in such respect shall remain final and binding. The Bank can also decide to claw back any rewarded Amazon Rewards Points and suspend /close Cards if it determines that the Cards were used for business or commercial transactions.
3.20 For any disputes against monthly Amazon Reward Points, the Cardholder has to reach out to the Bank within 90 days from the date of transaction. Post this period, if no dispute is raised by the Cardholder, then the calculation will be treated accurate and confirmed by the Cardholder.
3.21 The Bank and Amazon reserve the right to disqualify any Cardholder from further participation in the Program if, in the Bank’s or Amazon’s sole judgment, the Cardholder has in any way violated these Amazon Card Program specific Terms and Conditions and /or the Bank’s General Terms & Conditions. As a result, suspension and disqualification will lead to forfeiture of all Amazon Reward Points earned/balance, if any.
3.22 Amazon Reward Points earned through Card spends will be credited to the Cardholder’s Amazon Reward Points balance and can be viewed by logging in to the Bank’s designated channels or Amazon App.
3.23 The Cardholder will not have access to the Amazon Reward Points earned on the Card if the Card is closed due to the Program misuse, fraudulent activities, failure to pay, bankruptcy, using the Card in Shariah non-compliant activities or other reasons as applicable.
3.24 Following transactions do not qualify for any Amazon Reward Points:
Additional benefits associated to the Card are as published on Bank’s website from time to time.
4.1 These Program Conditions are governed by the laws of the UAE and the laws applicable in the Emirate of Dubai. Each Cardholder submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai. Nothing shall prevent the Bank from taking proceedings in any other court of competent jurisdiction.
4.2 The Bank reserves the right at any time, and without any liability to a Cardholder, by giving notice to the Cardholder in accordance with the applicable law and regulations of the Central Bank of the UAE, to terminate, amend, modify cancel and/or vary the benefits, features or terms of the Program or any terms in relation to the eligibility criteria, cashbacks, earning, benefits and rewards thereto (“Variation”). In case such Variation results in reduction in the number of, or the period of expiry of, any existing or future Amazon Reward Points or other benefits accrued or earned by a Cardholder, the Bank shall not be liable in any manner for such reduction.
4.3 The Bank shall not be liable for any non-performance of its obligation under these Program Conditions, due directly or indirectly to the failure of any machinery or communication system, interruption, delayed transmission, mechanical or technical failures, power failures, malfunction, incorrect data transmission, breakdown, inadequacy of equipment, industrial dispute, war or act of God, or anything outside Bank’s control. The Bank shall not be responsible for any delay by merchants in transmitting evidence of an Eligible Spend.
4.4 The records of the Bank (in the form of electronic or other data, whether written or otherwise) pertaining to the Program will be final and binding on the Cardholder and such Cardholder shall not argue to the contrary.
4.5 This Program and the use of the Card shall be subject to the terms laid down in the General Terms and these Terms and Conditions, as applicable.
