Switch Cashback Credit Card - Terms and Conditions

Bank means Emirates Islamic Bank PJSC or Emirates Islamic.
Card Currency means the local currency of the United Arab Emirates: the Dirham (AED).
Card/Credit Card means, as appropriate, the VISA, Mastercard or American Express Credit Cards, issued by the Bank to you or to any Supplementary Cardholder from time to time in the Card Currency.
Card Account means the Credit Card account opened by the Bank in your name for the purpose of entering all debit and credit received or incurred by the primary and supplementary cards.
Charges means amounts payable by you arising from the use of the Credit Card or the Credit Card/Covered Card number or the PIN or otherwise, under these Terms and Conditions or as notified by us from time to time including, without limitation, all Credit Card transactions, fees, Value Added Tax or any other similar sales tax (VAT), handling charges, additional expenses, and losses, legal costs and disbursements, which will be debited to the Card Account.
Card Transaction means any transaction carried out by you, using the Credit Card, the PIN or the Card number.
Eligible Transaction means the retail purchase, that qualifies for a cashback on the Eligible Card, which does not fall under the Non eligible Transaction defined under the Cashback Reward clause below
Non-Eligible transactions: following transactions do not qualify for any Cashback

1. All transactions other than Qualifying Transactions.
2. Any payments made through third party payment service providers/channels or payment aggregators where the payment is not made directly to the merchant(s)/institution(s).
3. Cash withdrawals (through ATM’s, Banks, Exchange houses or through any withdrawal channels).
4. Balance Transfers & Cash on Call facilities availed.
5. Insurance/Takaful charges levied by the bank.
6. Fees & Charges levied by the bank.
7. Any adjustment entries (if any) levied on the card by the bank or any other transactions determined by the Bank from time to time.

Eligible Card Emirates Islamic Switch Cashback Credit Card
Limit means the maximum debit balance permitted for the Card Account for you and any Supplementary Cardholder.

When you perform the Eligible Transaction on your Eligible Card, you will accrue cashback in your Card Account, in accordance with these Switch Cashback Card Terms. The cashback is calculated on a calendar month based on the category of Cashback selected by the Cardholder – either Lifestyle or Travel as a percentage of the value of the Eligible Transaction and shall be subject to a maximum limit as mentioned below and is subject to change as determined by Emirates Islamic Bank PJSC in its sole discretion.
When you make the Eligible Transactions on your Switch Cashback Card, for a minimum billed amount of AED 2,500 per calendar month, you will receive cashback on spends at select merchant categories, as stated in below table:

1. The cashback shall be accrued on a calendar month basis to the Card Account and will reflect in the Cashback balance on the EI + app, in the calendar month after the month of the Eligible Transaction.
2. Emirates Islamic Bank PJSC is neither responsible for a transaction that does not get captured under the appropriate category code nor accepts any responsibility for refusal of acceptance of the EI Switch Cashback Card at any outlet for any reason whatsoever.
3. The Cashback rewards will not be applicable / given to Switch Cashback Cardholders if the Card is delinquent, blocked or closed and consequently shall not be posted to the Card Account.
4. Emirates Islamic Bank PJSC reserves the right to refuse payment of the Cashback where it has reason to believe that the Cardholder has breached or tried to breach these terms and conditions or the terms of use of Cardholder’s account or attempted to circumvent operational procedures.
5. Emirates Islamic Bank PJSC shall amend the minimum spend conditions for cashback eligibility at any time after the passage of the notice period required in accordance with the regulations of the Central Bank of the UAE.
6. Reversal/Refund transaction initiated by the merchant against the original transaction - These transactions will offset the retail spends in the Calendar Month in which the refund or reversal transaction has been processed by the merchant in accordance to the category of spend and adjust the Cashback earnings for the same Calendar Month. In the event a Qualifying Transaction is reversed or refunded at a later date, these transactions will compensate the Qualifying Transactions executed in the Calendar Month in which the reversal has been processed by the merchant in accordance to the category of spend and shall also compensate the Cashback earnings for the same Calendar Month.
7. Cashback earning in a Calendar Month may be restricted to the value of Qualifying Transactions, up to the credit limit assigned to the Card. For the sake of clarity, if the credit limit on the Card is AED 50,000, only Qualifying Transactions within the Merchant Categories of a total value of AED 50,000 in a Calendar Month would be eligible for Cashback.
8. Cashback will be based on category selected by the cardholder which will have list of merchants which form part of qualifying transactions and also based on spend thresholds as defined by bank.
9. The maximum value of cashback earned in a calendar month will be determined by the bank and may be changed by the bank at its sole discretion.
10. In the event of cardholders having multiple cards, the cardholders shall only be entitled to earn cashback in one of the accounts, at the bank’s sole discretion.
11. If the total cashback earned during a calendar month is not a whole number i.e. in decimals, the bank at its sole discretion may round up or round down the cashback figure to the nearest Arab Emirates Dirham (AED).
12. Cashback is offered as per the Merchant codes defined by VISA. Emirates Islamic PJSC is not responsible if a transaction does not get captured under the appropriate Merchant code
