We are proud to say that over 30% of our workforce is female, exceeding global financial industry benchmarks, but we are not stopping there.

We are investing extensively in diversity and inclusion, and increasing the number of talented women across our ranks is our biggest priority, especially at a management level. To make that happen, we’ve introduced our Career Comeback Programme.

Introducing our Career Comeback Programme

This initiative offers professional women the opportunity to re-enter and thrive in the workforce after a career break.

It offers a direct pathway for women, especially mothers, to resume their careers through a targeted 6 month re-introductory programme, supported by extensive training, upskilling, coaching and mentoring and networking opportunities.
To be eligible, you will need to be out of the workforce for at least two years but you don’t need to have banking experience.

2024

Our two graduate programmes; Ruwad and Bedaya achieved 65 percent female participation

2023

Emirates NBD Group signed the UAE Gender Balance Pledge with eight other UAE companies to accelerate the achievement of UNSDG5
Career Comeback Programme launched, providing a supportive pathway back to full time employment for professional women
Bank-wide “Unconscious bias” campaign launched, providing employees with awareness and training about how discrimination and stereotyping is enabled

2022

Achieved 28 percent growth in female hiring at the mid-management level over 2021 and 2022
Appoint H.E. Huda Sayed Naim AlHashimi as Emirates Islamic’s first female board member
UN Sustainability Development Goal 5 (UNSDG5) of “Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women and Girls” identified as major strategic objective in Emirates NBD Group’s long-term strategic sustainability plan
Diversity and Culture team established within Group Human Resources
Emirates Islamic doubled maternity and paternity leave, while introducing parental and adoption leave, ensuring we offer one of the best family leave policies in the market
Dedicated lactation facilities introduced across our key offices, along with dedicated parking spots for women staff

2021

Announced target on International Women’s day to have 25% of all leadership roles filled by women by end-2027
Formalized our work-from-home policy after COVID-19, providing employees with the opportunity to work from anywhere in the UAE at any time.
