The Double Safe security feature on all Emirates Islamic Credit and Debit Cards protects you from fraud when shopping online at any participating merchant verified by Visa or MasterCard. Always look for the MasterCard® SecureCode™ and ‘Verified by Visa’ logos when checking out.

How Double Safe is Activated

  • After selecting the goods or services you want at a Verified by Visa/MasterCard® SecureCode™ certified online shop, go to the payment page and enter your card details
  • When you click on a payment prompt, a Double Safe pop-up window will appear on your screen
  • Enter your Double Safe Authentication Code that you received via SMS/email to your registered mobile number and email address. Make sure that your contact details are updated
  • Your payment will then be authorised, and your order will be placed. It's that easy!

FAQs

Emirates Islamic Double Safe works on any computer connected to the Internet. No special software needs to be installed, but software that prevents pop-up windows may affect the use of Double Safe.

If you are shopping at merchants who do not yet participate in Verified by Visa/MasterCard® SecureCode™, you will not be prompted to enter your Emirates Islamic Double Safe Authentication Code. You can continue your purchase, but if you shop without the added security of Emirates Islamic Double Safe, whether or not it is a trusted site depends on your judgement.

Yes, you’ll receive Double Safe Authentication Codes via SMS while you’re abroad, but charges may apply. You will always receive the code free of charge on your registered email address.

If you didn’t receive your Double Safe Authentication Code, you can click on ‘resend authentication code’ on the authentication screen to request a new code. You should receive it immediately on your registered mobile number and/or registered email address. if this isn't the case, please check that your phone number and email address are up to date with us.

You don’t need to do anything. This simply means that our systems have analysed all aspects of the transaction and deemed it safe based on many elements including the usage pattern, the device used and the merchant details. At this stage of the transaction, you should see the following message: ‘You have been successfully authenticated’.

The Double Safe Authentication Code will only be sent to the mobile number and/or email address you have registered with us. You should have access to this mobile number and email address when you make an online purchase. You can change your registered phone number to the temporary number if you want and change it back later.

Yes, your supplementary cardholders will receive their own Double Safe authentication codes on their registered mobile number and email address. If their contact details are not registered with us, then you will receive the authentication code when they make a transaction.
